Responsibilities
- Administer ionizing irradiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from department physicians.
- Verify patient identity and treatment site prior to delivery and document treatment parameters.
- Monitor patients during treatment and respond to safety concerns following established protocol.
- Adhere to radiation safety practices and infection control guidelines; maintain equipment/data integrity per policy.
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure prescribed treatment plans are implemented accurately.
- Maintain clear, compliant documentation of treatments and any deviations in the medical record.
Requirements
- Active California license to practice Radiation Therapy or eligibility (as applicable)
- Graduation from an accredited radiation therapy program
- Demonstrated ability to administer ionizing irradiation and follow physician prescriptions
- Knowledge of radiation safety standards and patient safety practices
- Ability to work in a hospital setting and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
