PACU Registered Nurse (Phase I) – Honolulu, HI. Travel assignment starting 04/13/2026 for 16 weeks. Earn $2,582 to $2,690 per week with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Shift: 4x10 rotating. Work setting: hospital-based PACU, Phase I. This assignment requires Hawaii RN licensure and appropriate perioperative certifications.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct post-anesthesia care in Phase I/Phase II PACU, monitoring stabilized patients and managing airway, breathing, circulation, and comfort.
- Assess patient status, interpret monitors, administer medications as ordered, and adjust care plans in collaboration with anesthesia and surgical teams.
- Manage pain control, antiemetic therapy, fluid balance, and ventilation support as needed; address emergent events promptly.
- Verify discharge criteria, prepare patients for transfer to appropriate units, and document care accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Maintain patient safety and infection control standards; coordinate with telemetry and critical care teams when telemetry or ICU-level monitoring is indicated.
- Communicate clearly with patients and families about recovery status and post-operative instructions.

Requirements
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered Hawaii RN license required to apply; NURSYS report requested with submissions.
- Experience: Two (2) or more years of full-time PACU Phase I/II RN experience in a large medical center (500+ beds) prior to travel assignments; telemetry experience required; ICU experience highly preferred.
- Certifications: Current BLS/HCP, ACLS, and PALS required; CPI (or equivalent) and NIHSS preferred; specialty certifications highly desired (CCRN, CPAN, PCCN).
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Compliance: Compliance must be completed no later than 10 days prior to contract start date; all licenses and certifications must remain valid for the duration of the initial contract.
- Additional: If RN is not needed on their unit, assignment may include roles such as a nursing assistant or safety sitter as needed.
