Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed respiratory therapies including oxygen delivery and aerosol treatments; monitor patient responses and adjust plans per protocol.
- Assess respiratory status, document findings, and communicate changes to the care team to support care planning.
- Operate and maintain respiratory therapy equipment, including oxygen systems and related devices; troubleshoot issues and ensure patient safety.
- Assist with airway clearance techniques, suctioning, and related procedures as ordered by the clinician.
- Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to integrate respiratory care into the overall plan of care; participate in rounds and bedside assessments as needed.
- Ensure infection control practices, chart accurately, and follow local policies to maintain a safe care environment.
Requirements
- Active Respiratory Therapist license in Virginia (or eligible for Virginia licensure)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to work a 3x12 night shift schedule
- Experience or comfort working in a skilled nursing facility setting on a travel assignment
- Ability to travel to the assignment location and work the listed shift times
