Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for outpatient dialysis patients, including ESRD management and dialysis treatments
- Monitor patient status during sessions, assess vital signs, fluid balance, and responses to therapy; escalate issues per protocol
- Administer prescribed therapies and medications; maintain aseptic technique and infection control; manage anticoagulation as directed
- Document care in the EMR (EPIC) accurately and promptly; collaborate with the nephrology team and other care providers
- Participate in patient education, care coordination, and discharge planning; float to additional locations as needed to meet patient needs
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Vermont (or eligibility)
- AHA BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years RN experience; minimum 1 year outpatient dialysis experience
- EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years (nonnegotiable)
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- Ability to float to additional locations within the service area; flexible with schedule including Saturdays; no on-call required
- RN degree from an accredited program (assumed standard for practice)
