Responsibilities
- Perform and assist with Cardiac and Vascular radiographic examinations, including angiography and related imaging.
- Conduct active interventional procedures in the cardiovascular lab using advanced equipment; assist physicians during cath lab interventions.
- Operate imaging systems to produce high-quality digital images of the heart and vascular structures; adjust imaging parameters per protocol.
- Position and immobilize patients, ensuring comfort and safety; provide clear explanations of procedures to patients.
- Administer or assist with contrast media injections under physician direction; monitor patient status during imaging and procedures.
- Monitor and interpret monitoring equipment, fluoroscopy, and cinefluorography to support procedural guidance; communicate changes to the team and document findings.
- Maintain sterile technique and field integrity; document procedures, radiation exposure, and patient responses according to policy.
Requirements
- Licensure: Current state Radiologic Technologist license in California required.
- Certification: ARRT certification preferred; active ARRT certification preferred; CPR/BLS from an approved vendor required.
- Experience: At least two years of recent experience in interventional radiology or cath lab preferred; 1–2 years cath lab experience required.
- Education: Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Abilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced cath lab environment; demonstrated competence with cardiovascular imaging and contrast administration; ability to stand for extended periods and assist during procedures.
