Registered Nurse – Short Stay in a travel assignment, San Luis Obispo, California. Start date 07/13/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,175 to $2,254 per week. No guaranteed hours. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative/procedural nursing care for patients across the lifespan (infant to geriatric), in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform assessments, monitor vitals, operate and troubleshoot standard clinical equipment, administer medications per policy, and document care carefully.
- Deliver patient and family education before procedures and at discharge; coordinate discharge planning with the care team.
- Collaborate with physicians, case management, and ancillary staff to ensure safe transitions and timely patient flow, including pre/post education and care planning.
- Support peri-procedural care in a short-stay context, with attention to infection control, safety protocols, and quality metrics.
- Seek opportunities to apply and share relevant cath lab–related skills; one year of pre/post op diagnostic cath lab experience is preferred.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in pre- and post-operative/diagnostic cath lab care is preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity care environment
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and documentation skills
- Effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team
- Willingness to rotate shifts and participate in a travel assignment
