Responsibilities
- Deliver bedside nursing care to adult cardiac patients in a PCU/IMCU environment, including STEMI, NSTEMI, CTS, and chest pain presentations
- Monitor telemetry and hemodynamics; manage cardiac medication infusions such as Milrinone, Dobutamine, and vasopressors as ordered
- Collaborate with the cardiology team and critical care colleagues to assess, plan, and implement patient care plans; respond to deterioration and escalate as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record; perform routine assessments, administer medications, rotate devices per protocol, and participate in discharge planning
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards; ensure appropriate patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3–4 and support transfer of stable patients to telemetry beds as needed
- Provide education to patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Georgia (or eligible for GA licensure)
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of PCU/IMCU experience in a facility of similar size (28-bed PCU/IMCU) with a cardiac population
- Documented PCU experience in work history; ability to manage cardiac patients with STEMI/NSTEMI care and related drips
- Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced cardiac unit and to support a 1:3–4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Availability to work night shifts on a 2x3 schedule and participate in the travel assignment
