Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside nursing care to adult neurological patients, including stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Guillain–Barré syndrome, and other complex conditions
- Monitor patient status with telemetry and participate in continuous video EEG monitoring within the epilepsy monitoring framework
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments; perform and document procedures and assessments in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (physicians, therapists, case management, social work) to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Prioritize patient safety, infection control, fall prevention, and timely escalation of clinical changes; support patient and family education as appropriate
Requirements
- Active New York RN license required
- Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Telemetry experience required
- NIHSS certification highly preferred
- Ability to work in a high-acuity neurological unit and to rotate through 12-hour shift schedules
