Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and treat patients requiring respiratory support; initiate, adjust, and discontinue therapies as prescribed
- Administer inhaled therapies, nebulized meds, oxygen therapy, and humidification per physician orders
- Manage mechanical ventilation: setup, titration, alarms, troubleshooting, and weaning in coordination with the care team
- Perform arterial blood gas draws, analyze results, and adjust therapy based on patient response
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other team members to implement care plans; document patient progress accurately in the medical record
- Ensure patient safety and adhere to infection control practices; participate in rounds and handoffs as part of standard care
Requirements
- Active Georgia RRT license and NBRC RRT certification
- AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in respiratory care within the specialty
- Ability to work 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. schedule with EO weekend coverage
- Must provide 2 professional references
- No local candidates within 50 miles of the assignment location
- Holiday coverage required: two major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year’s Day) and one minor holiday (the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year’s Eve)
