Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients with medical conditions, including oncology-related needs
- Assess patient and family needs; develop an individualized plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Monitor patient progress, reassess, and adjust the care plan as conditions change
- Educate patients and families on self-care, medications, symptom management, and discharge planning
- Promote safety and infection prevention; advocate for patient rights; coordinate care with physicians and support staff
- Document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient education, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
Requirements
- NYS Registered Nurse license (active required)
- BLS and ACLS (AHA or RQI) required
- NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience
- Ability to care for adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients in a medical/surgical setting
- Ability to work a 3x12 rotating schedule with on-call shifts and holiday coverage as scheduled
