Responsibilities
- Provide ICU-level nursing care to patients during nighttime hours in a home hospice care context.
- Monitor patient conditions, document vitals, and administer prescribed medications and IV therapies; adjust care as directed by the physician.
- Manage and, when applicable, operate life-sustaining equipment; respond to medical emergencies and implement ACLS protocols as needed.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans; communicate with patients and families to educate and support care decisions.
- Ensure adherence to safety, infection control, and fire and life safety standards; maintain accurate charting and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and other providers for timely interventions and appropriate discharge planning and referrals.
Requirements
- Licensure: California RN license (active)
- Certifications: AHA BLS required; AHA ACLS required
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of recent ICU experience (and at least 3 years ICU experience total)
- Education: BSN preferred
- Skills: Ability to perform ICU-level nursing in a home healthcare - hospice setting; strong assessment, critical thinking, and collaborative care skills
- Eligibility: Must be able to work night shifts and operate within a home-based care environment
