Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for an ICU patient or assigned group of patients following established standards and the nursing process.
- Assess patient condition, develop and implement care plans, monitor responses, and document findings accurately.
- Administer medications and interventions per orders, monitor for efficacy and adverse effects, and escalate concerns as needed.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff, and coordinate care with other disciplines.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other team members to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain patient safety, ensure adherence to professional standards, and apply critical thinking and independent judgment in complex situations.
Requirements
- Active RN license in California
- ICU experience in an acute care setting
- Ability to work night shifts and meet the demands of an ICU environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to document clearly and comply with policies and procedures
