Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational therapy services to patients on the inpatient rehab unit or acute care unit, including evaluation, treatment planning, and progress documentation.
- Collaborate with the rehabilitation team; participate in rounds and discharge planning; co-treat with PTAs in the acute care setting as needed.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address functional goals; adjust plans based on patient progress and goals.
- Document patient progress in the medical record, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely updates.
- Educate patients and families on activities of daily living, safety strategies, and community reintegration as appropriate.
- Manage a typical rehab census (inpatient rehab) around 12 patients, coordinating care with other disciplines to optimize outcomes.
Requirements
- Active Oklahoma license as Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or eligible
- NBCOT certification
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Willingness to work in inpatient rehab or acute care settings; ability to adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment
- Submission requirements: Will accept new grads; recent traveler experience preferred
- Profile and documentation requirements: Skills Checklist current within 1 year; two Supervisory Reference Forms within the last two years; work history; permanent address
