Travel Registered Nurse Peds Job
Registered Nurse - Pediatrics is a travel temporary assignment in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, starting 04/27/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $2,410 to $2,523, with 36 guaranteed hours. Shift: 12-hour daytime shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM) on a 3x12 schedule in a small pediatric unit within a hospital setting. This assignment includes pediatric-focused care with family involvement and clinic-like support suitable for a condensed census.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct, evidence-based nursing care to pediatric patients, with emphasis on family-centered planning and involvement
- Monitor vital signs, perform head-to-toe assessments, administer medications and IV therapies, and document findings accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, IV therapy, and other team members to coordinate care
- Maintain safety and infection control standards; respond to clinical changes and emergencies promptly
- Assist with rooming-in as appropriate and support family education and psychosocial needs
- Manage a small-unit census with a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio; float to Med/Surg or Post-Partum as needed
- Utilize the Meditech Expanse electronic medical record (strongly preferred) to document care and communicate updates
- Adhere to unit policies regarding scheduling, attendance, and RTO requests
Requirements
- Licenses: Massachusetts RN license (active); Massachusetts Temporary Nursing Service Agency License (Nursing Pool) required to be uploaded upfront with traveler profile
- Certifications: American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS active
- Experience: Minimum 3 years current pediatric nursing experience
- Education: BSN preferred
- Skills/Profile: Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred; pediatric and medical-surgical nursing skills pertinent to pediatrics
- Location/Profile: Permanent address must be included in profile; traveler must have own vehicle
- Floating: Adult Medical-Surgical experience preferred to float when needed
- Scheduling/Policy: No block scheduling; RTO requests must be noted upfront (limited to 3 days or less); call-outs are not expected on this unit
