Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines while using critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making.
- Administer medications, assess patient status, document care, monitor for changes, and respond to clinical changes as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, case management, and ancillary staff to coordinate care and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, post-discharge care, and safety considerations.
Requirements
- Active RN license in California or eligibility for licensure
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience in short stay or acute care settings
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to work in a hospital environment with 10-hour day shifts
- Ability to pass required health screenings and background checks as part of the assignment process
