Setting: 64-bed emergency department in a high-volume, fast-paced environment; EPIC EMR familiarity required

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care in the ED for adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients, including triage, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Monitor and treat acute conditions common to ED presentations (stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, respiratory failure) and administer medications per evidence-based protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, ED technicians, respiratory therapy, social work, and case management; participate in resuscitations and rapid response events as needed.
- Utilize ED-specific equipment and processes (e.g., rapid infusor, airway management tools) and document thoroughly in EPIC EMR; ensure accurate vitals, waveforms, and nursing notes.
- Support patient flow and bed management, coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers; provide patient and family education and discharge planning.
- Floats to related ED areas as required to meet unit staffing needs and maintain safe, efficient care delivery.
Requirements
- Active New York RN license with Nursys verification; all RN licenses in good standing
- Minimum 2 years ED experience; pediatric exposure preferred; travel experience appreciated
- Current AHA certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS; NIHSS and TNCC preferred
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ED setting and float to related areas as needed; RTO must be included at time of submission
