Travel Registered Nurse Behavioral Health|Psychiatric | Adolescent - Inpatient Job
Position: Registered Nurse, Behavioral Health (Adolescent Inpatient). Located in Alorton, Illinois, United States, this travel assignment starts on 08/03/2026 and runs for 13 weeks. Compensation ranges from $1,919 to $2,050 per week with a guaranteed 36 hours per week. The schedule is 3x12-hour nights (6:30 PM–7:00 AM) and includes every other weekend and holidays within a hospital-based behavioral health unit serving clients 18 years and older. The role requires CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills (APS) training.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care for adolescent behavioral health patients, coordinating with the care team in a hospital setting per policy and procedure
- Conduct assessments, develop care plans, establish expected outcomes, implement interventions, and evaluate patient progress; delegate tasks appropriately
- Administer medications and document administration accurately; monitor responses and adverse effects in a timely manner
- Maintain patient safety through ongoing risk assessment, de-escalation strategies, crisis intervention, and emergency response; monitor the environment for safety and contraband
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, participate in treatment planning, and lead or participate in group therapies as assigned
- Ensure accurate documentation, uphold patient rights and privacy, adhere to infection control policies, and support unit goals and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
- BSN degree preferred or equivalent years of nursing experience
- BLS certification required
- CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills (APS) required
- Experience in behavioral health or adolescent inpatient care preferred
- Ability to work with patients aged 18 and older; flexible to night shift and rotating weekend/holiday schedule
