Responsibilities
- Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff.
- Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.
- Provides oversight and support in the ER setting during a 12-hour night shift.
- Documents patient status, care provided, and responds to changes in condition.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, quality care.
- Monitors patient vitals and responses to treatment; takes timely action to escalate concerns as appropriate.
Requirements
- Active RN license to practice (state-specific) as required by the employer
- Ability to work a 3x12-hour night shift schedule
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to participate in a travel assignment for an 8-week contract
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and coordinate care in an emergency department setting
