Responsibilities
- Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to adult PCU patients, including assessments, monitoring, and timely documentation
- Administer medications, manage IVs, monitor hemodynamic status, and respond to changes in patient condition
- Perform ongoing patient assessments, contribute to care planning, and collaborate with physicians, case managers, and the healthcare team
- Implement and evaluate interventions, ensure patient safety, and maintain adherence to infection control and care standards
- Educate patients and families about conditions, care plans, and discharge needs; document all care activities in the electronic health record
- Demonstrate critical thinking and prioritization in a fast-paced, intermediate-care environment
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of experience in PCU or a related step-down/intermediate care setting
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH Certification (per job notes)
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts; flexible to meet the unit’s holiday coverage expectations
- Capacity to work in an inpatient PCU/step-down care environment with strong collaboration and communication skills
- Education: RN degree from an approved nursing program (implicit in licensure)
Holiday and scheduling notes
- Northside Holiday Expectations: must work 2 major holidays out of Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day, plus 1 minor holiday (the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year’s Eve)
