Responsibilities
- Deliver direct, evidence-based oncology nursing care for an assigned patient group using the nursing process and established standards.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; monitor vital signs, symptoms, and responses to oncologic therapies; document findings accurately.
- Administer medications and supportive therapies per protocol; monitor for adverse events and ensure safe handling and disposal.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary team members (physicians, pharmacists, social work, nutrition) to optimize patient outcomes and streamline transitions.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff; delegate appropriately, provide mentorship, and maintain a collaborative care environment.
- Ensure safety, infection prevention, regulatory compliance, and thorough discharge planning and education for patients and families.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license (in good standing)
- Minimum 1 year of oncology nursing or related inpatient experience
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and succeed in a travel assignment
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN acceptable)
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
