Responsibilities
- Perform radiographic examinations across the chest, extremities, abdomen, and other areas as assigned, ensuring high-quality images and patient safety.
- Operate X-ray equipment and digital radiography systems; apply proper positioning, exposure, and image acquisition per protocol.
- Verify patient identity and exam orders; document imaging results in the charting system and communicate findings to the radiology team as appropriate.
- Adhere to radiation safety practices, including shielding, patient immobilization when needed, and ALARA principles.
- Collaborate with radiologists and cardiology colleagues; adapt to department needs and participate in coverage as required by the rotation.
- Float within the Diagnostic Imaging department as needed to support operations and maintain proficiency with the skill set.
Requirements
- NY State license required at submission
- Minimum 2 years’ radiography/X-ray technologist experience in the specialty
- ARRT certification preferred but not required
- Epic charting experience
- Travel experience preferred
- COVID-19 vaccine not required; Flu vaccine status unknown
