Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for residents with communication, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing needs.
- Deliver direct therapy sessions, monitor progress, and modify treatment plans to maximize functional outcomes.
- Manage dysphagia care, including swallow assessments and safety strategies for diet modification when indicated.
- Document evaluation findings, therapy interventions, progress notes, and discharge plans in the medical record in a timely, compliant manner.
- Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, rehabilitation services, social work) to coordinate care and support discharge planning.
- Provide patient and family education on communication strategies, compensatory techniques, and caregiver guidance to support continued progress.
Requirements
- Current, active license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the United States (licensure specifics to be verified).
- Ability to work in a skilled nursing facility environment with adult patients.
- Proficient in clinical documentation and progress reporting for reimbursement and regulatory compliance.
- Availability for a 13-week travel assignment with guaranteed 40 hours per week.
