Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed radiation therapy per physician prescriptions; verify patient identity and treatment chart.
- Explain procedures to patients and establish communication during treatment.
- Prepare the treatment room and equipment, immobilization devices, and transfer the patient to the treatment couch.
- Deliver prescribed daily doses while observing radiation safety measures for patient and staff.
- Monitor patients for unusual reactions or complications and report findings to the supervisor and department physician.
- Maintain and review patient charts and daily treatment records for accuracy; provide clinical supervision and evaluate students’ practical ability.

Requirements
- Licenses/Certifications: ARRT Radiation Therapy (RT(T)) certification; California Department of Public Health Certified Radiologic Technologist in Therapeutic Radiologic Technology (CRT); Therapeutic Radiologic Technology Certification (TRT) required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience: At least two years of recent radiologic technology experience.
- ElektrA/Mosaiq: Elekta and Mosaiq experience required.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in radiological technology or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
- Additional: Current nursing license per state of assignment; Fluoroscopy permit from the state of practice preferred.
