Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse - Medical / Surgical on a travel assignment in Atlanta, GA, US. Start date: 04/20/2026. Eight-week assignment with guaranteed 36 hours per week on a 2x3 Nights shift. Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adults on a high-acuity medical/surgical unit, including spinal neuro trauma surgical patients and trauma cases
- Monitor patients for changes in condition, administer medications, and document in the EMR (EPIC)
- Collaborate with ED and admitting teams to support nurse handoffs and continuity of care
- Work with Nursing Support Technicians, phlebotomists, and night unit secretaries to coordinate care and streamline workflows
- Maintain patient safety with appropriate assessments, timely interventions, and clear communication with the care team
- Adhere to unit protocols, patient ratio expectations (approximately 5:1 on this unit), and keep documentation accurate and up to date
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the Med/Surg specialty
- Active BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a high-acuity environment
- Willingness to work given shifts; no block scheduling
- Capable of handling populations including spinal neuro trauma surgical patients, gunshot injuries, quads, and paraplegia-related care
- Nursing staff collaboration with support roles (Nursing Support Techs, phlebotomists, and unit secretaries) on night shifts
