Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to medical-surgical patients, including assessments, monitoring, and interventions as ordered.
- Administer prescribed medications and therapies; monitor responses and document in the chart.
- Monitor telemetry and document findings in the EMR (Meditech); ensure accurate, timely records.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and modify care plans; respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort; perform wound and line care, infection control practices, and patient education as appropriate.
- Prepare patients for discharge or transfer, and communicate with families and care teams as needed.
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license
- BLS certification (ARC or AHA)
- Minimum 3 years of Med/Surg and Telemetry experience; proficiency with Meditech EMR
- Telemetry monitoring experience and ability to pass a telemetry test on the first day of orientation
- Availability to work night shifts and to cover every other weekend and every other holiday
- Flu vaccine prior to start date
Education
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts
