Travel Registered Nurse House Supervisor Job
Registered Nurse – House Supervisor in Rochester, New York. This travel assignment begins 07/27/2026 and runs for several weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $2,542 to $2,641 per week, with no guaranteed hours. Shift pattern is 5x8 rotating. The role is based in a hospital setting with 311+ beds and a 20-bed ICU, overseeing ED, Family Birthplace, Surgical Services, and 14 medical–surgical units. Onsite support includes ICU charge/providers on Rapid Response/Code Team, a centralized staffing office, and an off-shift nurse manager covering 4p–2a across four shifts per week. This is a temporary travel assignment designed for experienced leaders who can manage multiple units and coordinate patient care, staffing, and operations.

Responsibilities
- Serve as on-site House Supervisor, providing leadership across ED, Birthplace, Surgical Services, med-surg units, and ICU to ensure safe, efficient patient care delivery.
- Coordinate staffing levels through the centralized staffing office; collaborate with unit leadership and off-shift nurse manager to maintain service and staffing needs.
- Participate in Rapid Response and Code Team activities; support critical events and crisis management, including de-escalation and safety protocols.
- Oversee regulatory compliance (DPH, TJC, OSHA), infection control, IV starts/maintenance, narcotic diversion oversight, and accurate incident reporting.
- Ensure effective bed management, patient flow, discharge planning, and appropriate transfers; document deaths and handle discharge AMA processes when applicable.
- Maintain EPIC charting, supervise documentation accuracy, and coach staff on best practices and performance improvement opportunities.
- Lead in crisis situations, coordinate unit staffing during fluctuations, and support interdepartmental collaboration with PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, Unit Secretary, Interpretation services, and Rapid Response teams.
Requirements
- Active New York RN license in hand to submit
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year RN experience; previous charge/supervisory experience required
- Travel experience required; unit does not accept first-time travelers; local candidates not accepted (must be >75 miles from facility)
- EPIC charting experience required
- Ability to work in an inpatient hospital setting with diverse patient populations (Infants, Adults, Geriatrics)
