Travel Registered Nurse opportunity in a general Med/Surg unit within a Critical Access Hospital. Location: Saint Johnsbury Center, Vermont, United States. Start date: 04/29/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: Day shift (7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.), 3x12-hour shifts; includes every other weekend. Weekly pay: $1,866–$1,903. The unit cares for adult patients with occasional pediatric patients in a broad Med/Surg setting, supporting medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, swing bed, and pediatric care.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult patients, with occasional pediatric cases, across a general Med/Surg unit.
- Coordinate care using the Nursing Process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to meet patients’ physical, psychosocial, and developmental needs.
- Collaborate with the Unit Director, Clinical Nurse Lead, and Nursing Supervisor to deliver safe, holistic care and to adjust plans as patient needs evolve.
- Monitor and document patient status, administer medications, perform frequent assessments, and respond to changes in condition.
- Support care across medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, swing bed, and pediatric scenarios, while maintaining age-appropriate care and safety standards.
- Maintain open communication with patients, families, and the health care team; ensure accurate medication administration and discharge planning where applicable.
Requirements
- Current Vermont RN license or multi-state RN license
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification
- ACLS certification
- Minimum 3 years of acute care experience; Med/Surg experience preferred
- Ability to work day shift in a Med/Surg setting with adult patients and occasional pediatrics
- Meditech experience is preferred but not required
- Must be able to start on 04/29/2026
- Commitment to working in a general Med/Surg unit that may see occasional pediatric patients; not a pediatric floor
