Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to ICU patients during night shifts, including monitoring, assessment, and timely interventions
- Administer medications and manage life-sustaining therapies as prescribed; support ventilated patients and hemodynamic management
- Observe and respond to changes in patient conditions; implement rapid response procedures when needed
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the broader care team; document care plans and progress in the medical record
- Maintain infection control standards and ensure patient safety, comfort, and dignity during the night shift
- Prepare patients for transfer or discharge as appropriate and communicate updates to family or caregivers as permitted
Requirements
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
- ICU nursing experience (preferred) with ability to manage adult and occasional pediatric patients
- Availability to work 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. on a 3x12-hour schedule; schedule may be negotiable within the noted patterns
- Ability to work effectively in a rural Texas ICU environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
