Travel Registered Nurse ER Job
Registered Nurse – Emergency Department, travel assignment in Utica, NY. Start date: 06/08/2026 for a 13-week contract. Weekly pay range: $2,325–$2,457. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 12-hour shifts (10:30 AM–11:00 PM). Setting: hospital-based emergency department.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the ED for adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients, including common ED presentations such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure; triage and stabilize patients as needed.
- Administer medications, monitor patient status, perform procedures within scope, and respond to emergencies in collaboration with physicians and the broader care team.
- Document care and orders in the EPIC EMR; ensure accurate charting, medication administration, and patient/family communication.
- Operate and monitor ED equipment and monitoring devices; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (nursing, radiology, respiratory therapy, case management) to support patient flow and safety.
- Float to other ED areas as needed to balance patient loads and staffing.
- Adhere to department protocols, infection control practices, and quality/safety initiatives; participate in ongoing professional practice and education.
Requirements
- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license with active status and Nursys verification.
- Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience; travel nursing experience required with documentation of prior travel assignments.
- Certifications: current AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS; TNCC is required.
- EPIC EMR experience; ability to document and retrieve patient information efficiently.
- Pediatric exposure in ED preferred; ability to manage newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients.
- Must live 75 miles or more from the facility to qualify for travel status (locals accommodated at local rate if within 75 miles).
- Driving license with address matching demographics; RTO (reasonable time off) must be included at time of submission.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ED environment; floating to other ED areas as needed.
