Role specifics and benefits
As a CT Technologist within radiology, you will be responsible for performing high-quality CT scans with precision and speed, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process. Your duties include preparing patients, positioning for optimal image acquisition, selecting appropriate contrast and protocol settings, monitoring for adverse reactions, and applying dose optimization strategies to minimize exposure. You’ll verify orders, document procedures, and communicate results clearly to physicians and care teams. You’ll participate in quality assurance activities, calibrate and maintain CT equipment, and troubleshoot imaging artifacts to ensure diagnostic accuracy. Collaboration with radiologists and technologists, adherence to safety standards, and meticulous record-keeping will be essential. There is ample room for professional growth within the CT specialty, including expanding expertise in advanced CT technologies, 3D reconstruction, perfusion imaging, and dose-reduction techniques. You may take on leadership responsibilities on shift, mentor junior staff, and contribute to protocol development and process improvements.
