Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized occupational therapy services to residents in a geriatric, skilled nursing environment, following the established plan of care.
- Assess residents, set goals, develop and implement treatment plans, and document progress and outcomes.
- Reassess and adjust interventions based on resident response; maintain safety and infection control best practices.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries in accordance with facility policies.
- Collaborate with physical therapy, speech-language pathology, nursing, and other team members; communicate with families as appropriate.
- Manage equipment and therapy supplies; ensure treatment spaces are clean, organized, and safe for resident use.
Requirements
- Active Colorado license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligibility for licensure; NBCOT certification as a COTA.
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
- 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric setting preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in a skilled nursing facility and adapt to a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong documentation, communication, and patient safety skills.
