Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult Med Surg patients, including post-surgical care
- Perform ongoing assessments, plan and implement care, administer medications and IV therapies, monitor for adverse events
- Manage IV pumps, NG tubes, feeding tubes, and other unit-specific equipment; document changes and notify the medical team
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and discharge planning
- Float to other Med Surg units as needed; uphold patient safety and high quality standards
- Document all patient information in the EPIC electronic medical record; ensure accuracy and compliance
Requirements
- Active NY RN license with NURSYS verification
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- 2+ years Med/Surg RN experience in an inpatient setting; travel experience required
- EPIC EMR experience
- RTO must be included at submission; ability to float to other Med Surg units; valid driver’s license with address matching demographics
