Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adults on the Med Surg unit, including post-surgical and general medical patients
- Monitor vitals, administer medications, manage IVs, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes per unit policy
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, update care plans, and document in the EMR (EPIC)
- Assist with postoperative care for common diagnoses such as abdominal pain, cholelithiasis, osteoarthritis, fractures, back pain, and morbid obesity (bariatric surgery)
- Float to related units as needed and respond to patient deterioration or emergencies
- Maintain safety, infection control, and pain management standards; ensure accurate nursing notes and patient education

Requirements
- Active New York RN license; Nursys verification showing an active NY license and any additional active RN licenses
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- 2+ years of Med Surg nursing experience; travel experience required
- EMR experience with EPIC
- Must have a valid driver’s license and address matching demographics
- Local candidates accepted; RTO requests must be included at submission
- Ability to work in a hospital Med Surg setting and float to other units as needed
