Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated OB/GYN nursing care for a patient or group of patients using established standards and the nursing process.
- Collect and analyze data, develop and implement a care plan, and coordinate care with obstetric and multidisciplinary teams.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, administer medications and therapies, and respond to clinical changes per protocol.
- Supervise and direct activities of the nursing staff; delegate tasks and coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Educate patients and families, provide health information, and participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain patient safety, document thoroughly, and collaborate with the treatment team to support a safe, healing environment.
Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice (California)
- CPR/BLS certification from an approved vendor
- ACLS certification (AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS)
- NRP certification (AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Acute care facility experience (2+ years) preferred
- Ability to work night shifts in a short-term acute care setting
