Responsibilities
- Perform, assist, and complete cardiac and vascular radiographic examinations, including active interventional procedures, using specialized imaging equipment.
- Operate imaging systems with fluoroscopy during catheterization and interventional studies; position and immobilize patients according to protocols; ensure image quality and patient safety.
- Assist physicians with interventional procedures; prepare devices and supplies; maintain sterile technique and equipment readiness.
- Mentor staff on technical skills; provide input into hiring and promotion decisions where applicable; contribute to training and quality improvement initiatives.
- Document procedures accurately; label and store images properly; coordinate with the care team to align imaging with patient goals and safety plans.
- Prepare the exam area, maintain radiation safety practices, and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime; adapt workflow to the home hospice setting while prioritizing patient comfort.
Requirements
- Education: Associate’s Degree or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in radiologic technology preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: California Radiologic Technologist license (required); ARRT certification preferred; Fluoroscopy (FLUORO) certification required; PVMB/TEAM/CPI or equivalent required; HLFS (Hospital Fire and Life Safety) required.
- Experience: At least two years of recent experience in the field; three years’ technical experience preferred; experience as a Special Procedures technologist preferred.
- Certifications: CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; state-specific RT license required.
- Additional: Ability to work in a home healthcare - hospice setting; Fluoroscopy experience; strong patient communication and procedural coordination skills.
