Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on the Med/Surg unit consistent with established standards and policies
- Monitor patients, including telemetry, interpret findings, and respond to changes in condition
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, manage IVs, and support pain control and symptom relief
- Document care and care plans accurately in the electronic health record; ensure clear handoffs during shift changes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, discharge planning, and patient education
- Assume an expanded role as needed (e.g., charge nurse on designated shifts, precepting, and participation in unit committees)
Requirements
- Current New York RN license (active)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Telemetry experience required
- Minimum of 2 years RN experience
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts (D/E/N) and adapt to a hospital Med/Surg setting
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
