Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive OT evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans to address physical, social, and mental function goals.
- Deliver therapy interventions using established protocols and evidence-based techniques; monitor progress and modify plans as needed.
- Serve as a co-leader in an interdisciplinary treatment approach for patient groups; collaborate with therapists, physicians, nurses, and other team members.
- Create and maintain clear clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, within established timelines.
- Supervise assigned OT assistants and ensure quality of care and appropriate workload distribution.
- Establish discharge and follow-up plans, communicating needs and recommendations to patients, families, and the care team.
Requirements
- Licensure: Active Occupational Therapy license in the state of practice (California) required.
- Education: Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) required; condition related to licensure timing (license obtained on or after January 2007) or foreign equivalent may apply.
- Experience: Two years of recent occupational therapy experience preferred.
- Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR certification from an approved vendor; certification required per employer policy.
- Additional: Ability to work in a short-term acute care hospital setting; valid for the listed assignment details.
