Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adults and older adults on a medical-surgical unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
- Administer medications and therapies, including heparin drips and other acute medications as ordered
- Monitor patient status, respond to changes, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to adjust care plans
- Ensure patient safety, documentation, and medication reconciliation; maintain accuracy in charting
- Assist with mobility and rehabilitation needs using specialty equipment such as gait belts, geriatric chairs, and PT equipment
- Participate in discharge planning and coordination with families, case management, and therapy services
Requirements
- Active RN license in Georgia
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Documented med-surg telemetry experience on an adult/older adult unit
- NICHE training a plus
- Ability to work a night-shift schedule on a 32-bed med-surg unit with trauma patients and acute medications
