Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field; assist with instrument passing, counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments throughout procedures.
- Support the surgical team during operations, including trauma and craniotomy-related cases; anticipate instrument and supply needs.
- Maintain accurate intraoperative counts and ensure correct labeling and handling of specimens as required.
- Assist with patient positioning, draping, suctioning, and exposure management; collaborate closely with the circulating nurse.
- Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and safety protocols; document and communicate any deviations or concerns.
- Coordinate efficient instrument turnaround and ensure all needed equipment is available for each case; contribute to a calm, safety-focused operative environment.

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years Level 1 trauma experience with verification in work history; strong performance on skills checklist including craniotomy patient experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a high-acuity trauma environment and to support complex surgical cases.
- Ability to work the scheduled 2x3 day shift pattern and comply with the assignment’s documented hours and holidays as applicable.
- Onboarding/compliance: HWL profile onboarding requirements, including demographic information and badge photo, as part of the assignment setup.
