Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ER) travel assignment in Templeton, California. Start date: 10/19/2026. 13-week assignment with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Responsibilities
- Perform accurate triage and initial assessment of ED patients (from newborns to geriatrics) and notify the ED physician of abnormal signs, symptoms, and vital signs
- Administer medications and provide side-effect teaching; include this information in discharge instructions
- Recognize and respond to cardiac, respiratory, or other emergent conditions with appropriate nursing interventions
- Interpret ECG rhythms and manage care during life-threatening events; participate in Code Blue, Code Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma Activations as needed
- Complete legible, timely documentation of nursing care in the medical record and ensure discharge instructions are accurate and understood
- Maintain competency in core nursing skills (medication administration, IV therapy, indwelling catheters/drains, and equipment use); adhere to chain of command policies
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California)
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Experience: Minimum one year of acute care experience required
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required or obtained within specified timeframes per policy
- Within 6 months of hire or transfer: TNCC certification
- NIHSS certification or demonstrated proficiency
- EPIC experience required
