This assignment centers on neuro-focused inpatient care in a unit that combines ICU and step-down capabilities. The nurse may float between ICU and IMCU as needed to cover patient needs while maintaining safe patient-to-nurse ratios.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside nursing care for adults with neurological injuries or disorders in ICU and IMCU, with potential float between units
- Perform comprehensive neuro assessments and ongoing monitoring of neurological status, including documentation of changes in level of consciousness, pupils, motor function, and other critical indicators
- Administer medications and therapies per physician orders; manage seizure precautions, sedation, analgesia, and airway support as indicated
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, case managers, and the multidisciplinary team to develop and adjust individualized care plans
- Respond to clinical changes, rapid responses, and code events; assist with procedures common to neuro-critical care and ventilated patients
- Maintain accurate electronic health record documentation; ensure adherence to protocols, safety standards, and infection control practices
- Coordinate patient transfers, consults, and discharge planning within a high-acuity neuro-focused population
- Adhere to unit-specific ratios: ICU 1-2 patients; step-down 3-4 patients, with expected floating between ICU and IMCU as needed
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia (GA RN)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a neuro-focused ICU/IMCU or equivalent specialty
- Strong neuro-care experience and clinical proficiency for neuro-critical patient management
- Ability to work night shifts and to float between ICU and IMCU as required by patient census
- Resume or work history with no gaps greater than 60 days, Skills Checklist, References, Certification Card, and Nursys license verification (per Job Notes)
