Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history.
- Plan and provide nursing care for patients, including developing and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with the care team.
- Perform nursing diagnoses related to medical and emotional status and recommend treatment options.
- Administer psychotropic medications and other prescribed treatments; monitor responses and adverse effects.
- Consult with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to design appropriate, patient-centered treatment plans.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and patients; monitor vital signs and assess pain; document all findings and responses in the medical record.
Requirements
- Current New York RN license (active, NY license only)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Telemetry experience/competency required
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience
- Ability to work in an inpatient behavioral health/psychiatric setting and to manage care for adolescent patients
