Travel Registered Nurse Oncology Job
GGH Level 1 RN Med/Surg 2N - PT D/N is an oncology-focused registered nurse assignment in Geneva, New York. The position supports adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients with medical conditions in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting. Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric medical-surgical patients, applying nursing theory and clinical skills.
- Assess patient and family needs through active listening, data analysis, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team; establish a developmentally appropriate, culturally relevant plan of care and monitor progress.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; observe for adverse effects and ensure infection prevention practices are followed.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and self-care after discharge; document education and assess understanding.
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, case management, social work, and other team members to optimize care delivery and discharge planning.
- Promote a healing environment, advocate for patient safety and rights, and maintain accurate and complete documentation of care and outcomes.
Requirements
- Active New York State Registered Professional Nurse license (RN) required
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI), NIHSS required
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience in an acute care setting
- Education: Graduate of an accredited RN program; current licensure to practice in NY
- Availability to work a 2x12-hour rotating shift (day or night) with required weekend/holiday coverage as described
