Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) travel assignment in Spearfish, South Dakota. Start date: 04/20/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,345–$1,426 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: Days. Setting: LTC – Nursing Home. This assignment is in a long-term care environment requiring collaborative care with the OT team to support residents’ functional goals.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct, supervised occupational therapy services to residents, following the plan of care developed by the supervising OT.
- Implement therapy activities and adaptive strategies to improve activities of daily living, mobility, and independence.
- Monitor resident progress, document outcomes, and communicate changes to the supervising OT and care team.
- Assist with patient education for residents and families on therapeutic exercises, safety, and home activity plans.
- Ensure safety during treatment, proper use and maintenance of equipment, and adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and support residents’ goals.
Requirements
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in South Dakota (or eligibility as applicable)
- Graduation from an ACOTE-accredited OTA program
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Ability to work in a fast-paced long-term care setting and follow established protocols
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Prior experience in a nursing home/long-term care environment preferred but not required
