Travel Registered Nurse OR Job
Registered Nurse – Operating Room (Travel) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This travel assignment is for a hospital setting with a 13-week contract. Start date is May 5, 2026. Guaranteed 40 hours per week with a 4x10-hour day shift (days). Weekly pay ranges from $2,864 to $2,949 per week; local candidates within 50 miles receive a local rate that is $8 less ($2,856 to $2,941 per week). The role involves on-call duties (evenings through 7:00am, every 5–6 days) and every 6th or 7th weekend, plus every other major holiday. OR RN experience is required, with EPIC EMR experience preferred. Submission and credentialing follow standard processes; MA RN license verification via NURSYS is required, showing ACTIVE status and ALL licenses. The profile will be routed through IVS Clinical Interview Service. This is a travel temporary assignment.

Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care for surgical patients in the operating room, ensuring patient safety, sterile technique, and adherence to aseptic protocols
- Prepare the OR for procedures, assist the surgeon and anesthesia team, and manage intraoperative equipment and instrumentation
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively, respond to changes, maintain sterile field, and perform accurateCount procedures
- Document care and interventions in the EMR (EPIC experience preferred); coordinate with the surgical team to optimize turnover and room readiness
- Adhere to hospital policies, patient privacy requirements, and infection prevention standards
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, circulating nurses, and scrub personnel to support successful outcomes
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license confirmed by NURSYS verification (must show ALL licenses); license status ACTIVE or conditional
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- 1+ year of operating room nursing experience
- EMR experience preferred: EPIC
- Ability to work the described schedule: 4x10-hour days, on-call, and holiday coverage
- Submission requires: up-to-date resume with 1+ year in OR, 2 recent supervisor references in OR, skills checklist, valid driver’s license with address matching demographics, and RTO information at submission (first-time travelers not considered)
