Registered Nurse – PCU traveling assignment in San Luis Obispo, CA. Start date August 17, 2026 for an eight-week term. Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and provide comprehensive nursing care to patients across ICU, Step Down Unit, Med Surg, Day Stay Unit, PACU, and ER.
- Maintain and demonstrate unit-specific competencies across multiple care settings; stay current with best practices and protocols.
- Supervise and delegate care tasks to ancillary personnel in accordance with scope of practice; collaborate with CNAs as part of the patient care team.
- Monitor patient conditions, administer medications and therapies per orders, and respond promptly to changes in patient status or emergencies.
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes; ensure accurate handoffs and communication across shifts and units.
Requirements
- Demonstrated competency across ICU, Step Down, Med Surg, Day Stay, PACU, and ER settings.
- Ability to plan, execute, and document nursing care in a high-acuity environment; strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
- Experience supervising or coordinating care with ancillary staff (including CNAs) within a unified care team.
- Availability to begin August 17, 2026 for an eight-week assignment and to work a 3x12-hour day shift schedule (36 hours per week).
- Willingness to travel to the listed assignment location and adhere to unit policies and procedures.
