Travel Registered Nurse ICU Job
Registered Nurse – ICU/Stepdown (Level II RN) in Rochester, NY, travel assignment beginning 06/08/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,065 to $2,211 per week. Shift: 12-hour shifts on a D/E/N rotating schedule with weekends, holidays, on-call, and callback as unit needs. Setting: hospital-based care with high-acuity neuro and stepdown patients; position requires NY RN licensure and proven stepdown/PCU experience.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for Level II stepdown/ICU patients, including neuro and telemetry monitoring
- Perform Q1 neuro checks and manage neuro-focused devices and therapies (EVDs, lumbar drains, subdural drains, VP shunts) and related arterial lines and drips (e.g., 3% NS, Cardene)
- Administer medications, titrate infusions, and monitor patient status with rapid response to changes in condition
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, coordinate care plans, document accurately, and participate in rounding as assigned
- Act as charge nurse or preceptor as needed and participate in committee or unit activities per leadership direction
- Ensure safety, infection control, and patient/family education in a high-acuity neuroscience/postoperative setting
Requirements
- Active New York RN license required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Minimum 2 years of Stepdown/PCU experience with telemetry
- High-acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience required; must have Telemetry experience
- ACLS strongly preferred; NIHSS preferred
- Must be comfortable with Q1 neuro checks, EVDs, lumbar drains, subdural drains, drainage systems, arterial lines, and neuro-focused medication management
