Responsibilities
- Operate x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of the body as ordered by physicians.
- Position and instruct patients prior to examination; ensure proper patient alignment and safety.
- Adjust exposure parameters (voltage, current, exposure time) to obtain diagnostically useful images.
- Verify patient identity and examination orders; adhere to radiation safety and shielding protocols.
- Maintain image quality, perform basic image processing, and submit images for interpretation.
- Adhere to department policies and communicate effectively with the radiology team and physicians.
Requirements
- California radiologic technologist license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- ARRT certification in Radiography or ARRT eligibility.
- Ability to operate radiographic equipment and perform diagnostic radiography per physician orders.
- Strong patient positioning, communication, and radiation safety skills; able to work in a hospital setting.
- BLS certification or ability to obtain prior to assignment.
- Willingness to travel for a 13-week assignment and work daytime shifts.
