Responsibilities
- Perform transthoracic echocardiography and vascular imaging exams according to orders
- Acquire high-quality images with appropriate views and Doppler assessments; ensure accurate measurements
- Prepare patients, review history and orders, explain exam procedures, and ensure patient safety and comfort
- Operate and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment; adhere to infection control and safety protocols
- Document findings and inputs in the electronic medical record; follow department policy for communicating results
- Collaborate with cardiology and other care teams; function autonomously during assigned shifts
Requirements
- RVT certification required
- Certified Echo/Vascular technologist (e.g., Echo/Vascular certification) required
- Ability to work independently in a variable, potentially solo setting
- Active certification appropriate to echocardiography/vascular imaging
- Must be able to perform in a medical imaging department and manage patient care within scope
