Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Conduct bedside swallow evaluations and develop feeding plans; implement evidence-based dysphagia therapy.
- Create, implement, and document individualized treatment plans; monitor progress and adjust goals as needed.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, dietary, physicians, therapy colleagues) to optimize resident outcomes; participate in rounds and discharge planning.
- Educate residents and families about treatment goals, strategies, and safety considerations; maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation.
Requirements
- Active Delaware business license required to staff in Delaware.
- Must have an account with the Delaware DHSS Background Check Center for mandatory background check/fingerprinting.
- Ability to work in a long-term care setting.
- Availability to begin by 07/06/2026.
- Experience in speech-language pathology in acute care or long-term care settings is preferred.
